Nina Mûr

Sustainable. Customizable. Designed to Last.

Nina Mûr is a Madrid-based eyewear studio creating handcrafted wooden glasses that blend sustainability, innovation, and design. Rooted in slow-fashion principles, each pair is produced in controlled, responsible quantities — avoiding mass production and prioritizing ethical, environmentally conscious craftsmanship from start to finish.

Every frame is made to order using the finest European materials, upcycled and recycled components, and sustainably sourced Finnish birch. With a 360º approach to responsibility, Nina Mûr balances low-impact production with strong social and corporate values, ensuring their eyewear is as thoughtful as it is beautiful.

Customization is at the heart of the brand. Clients can choose their preferred shape, finish, and color, allowing every frame to become a personal expression of style. This made-to-order process creates eyewear with soul — unique pieces crafted with intention, individuality, and artistry.

Behind the brand is Lorena Serrano, who launched Nina Mûr in 2018 after seeking a more flexible and sustainable alternative to traditional industry production. What began as an artistic solution for her family’s optical shop grew into a multidisciplinary team working collaboratively, without hierarchy, to design frames with purpose.
“Nina” means kind, and “Mûr” means mature in French — a reflection of the brand’s evolved identity and refined vision.

The Process

Every pair of Nina Mûr frames is designed and produced in Madrid using premium European materials. Their process is intentionally slow, precise, and highly handcrafted — with about 85% of each frame made by hand.

Lightweight Finnish birch laminas are shaped, pressed, and sculpted using innovative cutting techniques that allow for exceptional precision. After CNC cutting, each frame is carefully sanded, varnished, assembled, and quality-checked by their team of artisans.

The result: custom, made-to-order wooden eyewear that reflects meticulous craftsmanship, durability, and a truly unique aesthetic.
